The Roku Streaming Player is a device that is authorized for streaming digital content over the Internet. In this article we will guide you with detailed steps for its first time installation, creating the account and activation for Roku.
Note: Roku devices can only be purchased in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Ireland. Features vary by country. While streaming online content on Roku, some advertisements may be displayed on the menu screen.
Requirements for Roku Installation:
Access to the Internet.
Roku Streaming Player.
HDMI extender (optional).
Ethernet Cable (optional – depending on your Roku model).
Roku First Time Installation Steps
If you’re installing Roku for the first time, you must be aware of these guidelines:
Connect one end of the HDMI cable that comes with the Roku streaming player to the “video input” composite jack on your TV.
Connect the other end of the cable to the HDMI port on the back of the Roku box. You can also use an HDMI extender (optional).
If using a wired connection, plug the Ethernet cable (not included) into the Ethernet port on the back of the Roku box.
Using WiFi or wired connection depends upon the model of your Roku device.
If you use a wireless connection, you need a network name and a wireless security password.
Insert the battery into the remote control.
Connect the Roku box to the outlet.
Change the display source of the TV to the one to which Roku is connected.
The Roku Channel main screen appears.
Proceed to the setting box and press the OK button.
Click on the type of display to make a selection based on the options available and the video format of the television.
Press the OK button. Select a network, then select wireless or wired (Ethernet), and follow the connection instructions.
Create a Roku Account for activation for Roku.

Instructions for Creating Roku Account
During the initial installation instructions, users are asked to link to their Roku account. You can create an account following the instructions below:
Navigate to roku.com link.
Click Sign In.
Click Create Account. Follow the instructions to create a Roku account.
Note: When creating an account, you will be asked to add a payment method. If you want to delete this information after creating your account, sign out and sign in again. Access My Account / Payment Method and select Remove Payment Method at the bottom of the page.
Under “My Account” create a Channel Store PIN (four digits). Note down this PIN number.
Now again go to www.roku.com
Click Sign In.
Sign in to your account.
Click Link a player in the section “My Roku Players”.
Enter the link code (listed on the Roku player ) and click Submit.
Click Skip this step ( if there is no credit recorded).
Depending on your account’s Roku Channel Store PIN settings, you may need a 4-digit PIN to add a channel to your home screen.
