LLB 3 years

Choosing to go for LLB 3 years or 5 years integrated program

It is time to prepare for LLB admission 2020 and as students gear up to prepare for the entrance exam and apply to the reputed law universities, the major dilemma resurfaces again – whether they should go for LLB 3 years program or opt for an integrated 5-year program. It is no shocker that most of the undergraduate students opt for a 5 year integrated program that allows them to graduate with dual degree and ensure that the prerequisite to getting the LLB degree is fulfilled. But, which of the two programs is more suitable for you and which one should pursue if you are looking to become a lawyer? Here, we discuss on the outcomes of choosing both the paths.

Choosing the LLB 3 years program

Choosing the 3 year program means that you would have to go for a graduation course first, which might take 3-4 years depending on the program you choose. For example, you can choose to pursue BSc or BBA, both being 3 year programs or go for BE & B Tech which are 4 year programs. The 3 year LLB program requires you to complete your graduation first and therefore, gives you ample time to prepare for the law entrance examinations. Thus, it means you would have the opportunity to learn about another field and graduate with a degree in the same, before you kick off your journey to becoming a legal professional.

However, choosing this program has its own disadvantages as well, like you might find students who took the 5 year program graduating with a law degree before you. They too will have two degrees like you, but would be able to save at least one year or more when it comes to becoming a legal professional.

Going for an integrated 5-year program

The integrated 5 year program is the ideal choice for students fresh out of class XII with aspirations to become a lawyer or legal professional. The program allows you to pursue two separate degrees, such as BBA and LLB or BA and LLB. Instead of six or seven years, you would be able to graduate in 5 or 6 years, therefore saving at least one year in the whole process. Not only does it give you a head start over others, but you are also exposed to some extreme pressures which make you better as a professional.

The final nail LLB admission 2020 is just around the corner and we understand that it is hard to choose which path might be right for you. However, you need to think through the advantages and disadvantages of both the programs before making your final decision. Would it suit you if you get more time to prepare for the entrance exams or would it better to save time – the decision needs to be taken by you, as per your ambitions and convenience. Irrespective of the path or program you choose, do not forget to put in your best efforts to succeed!
